Who/what most influenced you to become a teacher?
I have always had a passion for working with children. I have coached gymnastics in high school, and college
kept leading me to teaching children. I narrowed it down to social work and teaching. Here I am now!
What has been the greatest highlight of your teaching preparation/career so far?
The greatest highlight has been seeing my students faces light up when they finally understood a difficult
concept I was teaching. It’s more a compilation of little moments that have highlighted my year.
What would you most want someone thinking about becoming a teacher to know?
I would want them to know that it is a very rewarding, yet tough job. You need to be 100% committed in order
to be successful. I would also say make sure you leave time for yourself and your family. Balance your
profession and life. That way everyone benefits!
